About Break Point Collegiate Tennis
Our Mission
At Break Point Collegiate Tennis, our mission is to empower junior tennis players to achieve their dreams of playing at the collegiate level. We provide personalized consulting services that cater to each player's unique goals and needs, ensuring they find the perfect school and program.
Our Why
BPCT was created out of a passion to help junior tennis players and their families navigate the constantly changing college tennis landscape. We want to help players find their niche schools (athletically & academically), learn life skills while reaching the level they need to accomplish their goals, and take those skills beyond college. We, also, want to work with college coaches to help them find the players that best fit their programs and culture.
About Kayla
Kayla's love of tennis started at a young age. Her mom played tennis for Purdue & was a tennis instructor all of Kayla's life. She got a racket in Kayla's hands by the age of four. From there, Kayla fell in love with the sport and played her first tournament at 7. It became her single focus and her dream was to play in college for a top academic & tennis program.
From there, Kayla continued to follow her goals, competing in NC, Southern's, and Nationally. She decided to sign with TCU due to their wonderful academics, warmer weather, great team camaraderie, and being a top 15 tennis program. After two wonderful years there, Kayla decided to move closer to home after her dad was diagnosed with Stage
From there, Kayla continued to follow her goals, competing in NC, Southern's, and Nationally. She decided to sign with TCU due to their wonderful academics, warmer weather, great team camaraderie, and being a top 15 tennis program. After two wonderful years there, Kayla decided to move closer to home after her dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma, and was fortunate to attend Wake Forest, another great program. Kayla reached as high as 33 in the country in singles and 7 in the country in doubles in her collegiate career, while also graduating in 2012 with a degree in Biochemistry.
After graduation and stepping away from tennis for a few years, Kayla started teaching at Charlotte Country Club as an assistant professional in 2015. She was promoted to Head Professional in 2019 and worked with all levels of players until she moved to Florida in 2023. Her love for the sport of tennis and her passion to help others led h
After graduation and stepping away from tennis for a few years, Kayla started teaching at Charlotte Country Club as an assistant professional in 2015. She was promoted to Head Professional in 2019 and worked with all levels of players until she moved to Florida in 2023. Her love for the sport of tennis and her passion to help others led her to the decision to create Break Point Collegiate Tennis, seeing a need in the junior tennis scene. Having been through it herself, she is excited to help juniors & their families with their own journeys and looks forward to getting to know you.
